August Anthems- Here is a brief overview of the anthems the choir will sing for the remainder of the month of August.

August 24 - Was I Faithful? emotionally questions us about our ministering to all God’s children in need. Will he say, “Well, done” when we enter His Kingdom?

August 31 - O Master, Let Me Walk With Thee. The choir tenderly sings this familiar hymn which concludes “With thee, O Master, let me Live.”

P.S. Charlie expects all choir members to be there on August 27 th, ready to rehearse!

Hope Circle Rummage Sale - Hope Circle will hold a Rummage Sale to benefit Red Bird Mission on Saturday, Sept. 6 th from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. We will begin accepting donated items for this sale on Saturday, August 30 th in the Fellowship Hall from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Please bring “gently-used” items and children’s clothing only. If you have any questions, please call Tami Adams, 922-6815. We will be setting up in the Fellowship Hall for the sale during the week of August 31 through September 5 th.

A note from Linda..... I am scheduled for some surgery on September 9 th, and will be out of the office for at least two weeks for recovery. During that time, the church office will be open, and the phone will be answered by volunteers. If you would like to help out in the church office for a few hours during the second and third week of September, please contact me at the church at 687-2952! I really appreciate the volunteers that have helped cover in my absence in the past. Heroes!!!

Choir Robes - Choir members! Wayne and Ellie Smith have really done the choir a big favor! They took all the choir robes to the cleaners and had them cleaned for you! The robes will be cleaned by the time you read this, and will be available for your use the first week of September. If you have not already paid for the cleaning of your robe, please put your check in an envelope, mark it “choir robe cleaning” and drop it in the plate. Reimburse the church, not Wayne and Ellie. Although the actual cost for the cleaning is $5.00 per robe and $2.00 for the stole, we ask that you include a little extra to cover the cleaning of the few guest robes we have! Thanks, and a big thanks to Wayne and Ellie!!

Congratulations are in order for our custodian and his wife, Gale and Terry Toftum, who became proud grandparents last Friday, August 15 th. Hudson Lee Orick, son of Gerald and Tammi Orick (Gale’s daughter) was born just before midnight, and weighed 7 lbs. 13 oz.!
